This canvast was gifted to me from someone who had painted a giant butterfly on it. During an argument, their spouse spraypainted black X’s throughout the piece. That artist was too distraught to do anything with it, so they gave it to me. It is titled Butterfly both in honor of what it once was, and the metamorphosis that it has undergone to become what it is today.
